In this class we will be learning how to perfect the rendering of the most challenging elements to paint with watercolor. Some examples of what we may work on would be hair, fur, reflection, water/water droplets, eyes, metal/shiny surfaces etc.

Achieve a beautiful watercolor painting using a variety of learned techniques, mini demonstrations, and step-by-step instruction.

This class will be split into two parts. During the introductory phase, students will complete a variety of short activities that introduce different watercolor techniques. Resist, blending, salt, ombre, and lifting are some of the many exciting techniques students will experience. Students will have time to experiment. The second phase of the session will focus on self-expression. Students will choose a subject of their choice, whether it is a still life, a photo, or an image of their imagination. Students will apply the techniques they have learned to their own works of art.

What Our Clients Are Saying

After my first class, I went on to take many of Miss. Kristy’s other classes year after year, and eventually, when I became too old for them, I started helping her as a counselor- in-training. I have had a TON of art teachers in my life, and I will always say that Miss. Kristy is by far my favorite. I cannot think of a single time where she ever told me to give up on something or made me feel like I should stop trying. She was always so supportive of me, especially when I was creating my college portfolio. In fact, I really miss her now that I am off in college because even after a year of college professors, I still see her as one of the most helpful and amazing teachers I have ever had.
