For students wanting to learn fundamental drawing skills, this class starts by building a strong foundation to build upon.
During the first part of the session, students will receive formal element training. They will focus on the basics of representational drawing: line, shape, contrast, and gradation. Through a variety of sequential exercises, students will learn to create works of art from life and photos. Students will learn to understand and reproduce natural contour line, proportion, and shadow of shapes. Students will learn how contrasts of value create form and the process to create gradations, which create the illusion of realism. At the end of the session, students will apply their skills to create drawing.
